Syntax: backstab/bs <victim>
Backstab is the favored first attack of thieves in any fight. It can be
used with daggers or claws. Damage inflicted is based on the attacker's
dexterity. Backstab does 400% more damage than a normal skill attack would
but hits once.
The chance of success to backstab the target is based on your level verses
your target's level, the backstab skill, dexterity, and luck to a smaller
degree. It is a sneak attack skill and thus, if the opponent can see the
attacker, the chance to land a backstab is decreased greatly. To go
undetected, use sneak, hide, or an an invis effect. If you are higher level
than your opponent or if your opponent is asleep, the chance of success is
very high.
If your opponent has equipment that gives resistance to backstab, the chance
to land your backstab will decrease by the amount of resistance and the
damage will also decrease by the amount of resistance.
Legend‑level thieves have the ability to automatically do extra rounds of
backstabs. The chance to do an extra backstab is 66% and the thief will
continue backstabbing until the chance fails or until the damage decreases
down to 0 (the damage is decreased each extra round).
